Kelly Fernando

Dr. Kathy Fernando is Chief Business Officer at Replicate Bioscience. She is a senior executive with nearly 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, responsible for leading Replicate’s corporate strategy, business development, portfolio strategy, and new product planning.

Prior to Replicate Bioscience, Dr. Fernando worked at Pfizer, where she most recently served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Pfizer Ignite, and Pfizer CentreOne. In these roles, she led Pfizer’s innovation partnership model for biotechs and oversaw the company’s global contract development and manufacturing organization. She has also held key leadership positions at Pfizer, including Head of mRNA scientific strategy and Head of Worldwide R&D Operations. Earlier in her career, she spent nearly a decade in management consulting at Deloitte, advising global pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the US and EU, including therapeutic area strategy and lifecycle management for over 10 new product launches.

Dr. Fernando received a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Pennsylvania. Her thesis focused on mRNA and HIV vaccine development in the laboratory of Nobel laureate Drew Weissman. She also holds a B.S. in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India.
